New Sounds & Mark's Health Update

I have started to rehearse with Andrea Asprelli ( www.andreaapsprelli) who will be joining the group on violin and backing vocals for gigs in the spring and summer. It’s exciting to add a new texture to the group, a sound we have not heard in the band for over 20 years! It’s also been over a year that we have not had backing vocals in the group and since harmonies are such a trademark for The Kerry Boys, I felt it was time to add them back into the mix while Mark is not available to play and sing. When he…

Winter update!

We’ll it’s the holiday season. While I am frantically booking March right now, I am starting to look at the summer too. Believe it or not a few of the towns we play regularly have already called for dates. It’s nice to be wanted!

Unfortunately, Mark will not be ready to perform in March and the summer season is also unsure. We have to play that by ear (using a musical metaphor). His strength is improving and he now only has to go to Boston once every two weeks for checkups. While he is improving, there is…

Update on Mark

Hi Kerry Boys Fans,

I am writing to give you all an update on Mark’s health. He is close to the 100 day mark after his stem cell transplant, which is the major milestone for this. His blood work shows that he is responding well with all the counts going in a positive direction. He is still…

Summer Update

Hi everyone,
I thought it was time for an update on Mark's treatments. He had the stem cell transplant on the 5th of July at Dana Farber in Boston. Typically it takes 12-13 days for some results to be known, but the great news is that he has responded early and his white blood cell count is rising, which is a sign that the transplant is taking in a positive direction. So, because of the quick and positive response, they are discharging him early and he is coming home to CT today! Amazing news!

He has to…

Summer 2012

2012 has been a tough year. My good friend and musical partner for the past 22 years in The Kerry Boys, Mark Jones, is undergoing treatment for Leukemia.  He will not be able to perform for the rest of the year as he undergoes a stem cell transplant at Dana Farber in Boston. We are fortunate to have incredible fans and friends who have been so supportive to Mark and his family.

For the rest of the year, I am switching from mandolin to guitar with Paul Neri joining the group on banjo. Tony Pasqualoni…
