Summer Update

Hi everyone,
I thought it was time for an update on Mark's treatments. He had the stem cell transplant on the 5th of July at Dana Farber in Boston. Typically it takes 12-13 days for some results to be known, but the great news is that he has responded early and his white blood cell count is rising, which is a sign that the transplant is taking in a positive direction. So, because of the quick and positive response, they are discharging him early and he is coming home to CT today! Amazing news!

He has to stay home for the next 100 days or so to make sure he doesn't get exposed to any bugs since his immune system is compromised, but it's exciting that his excellent response to the stem cell transplant has been so quick.

In the meantime, with Paul Neri on banjo and Tony Pasqualoni on bass, the Kerry Boys have started the outdoor concert season with a really nice audience in Southbury this Monday, one of our favorite towns to play in. Here's to a fun, musical and healthy summer for us all and to continued recovery for Mark!

Cheers, Pierce
