Summer 2012

2012 has been a tough year. My good friend and musical partner for the past 22 years in The Kerry Boys, Mark Jones, is undergoing treatment for Leukemia.  He will not be able to perform for the rest of the year as he undergoes a stem cell transplant at Dana Farber in Boston. We are fortunate to have incredible fans and friends who have been so supportive to Mark and his family.

For the rest of the year, I am switching from mandolin to guitar with Paul Neri joining the group on banjo. Tony Pasqualoni continues on bass as he has with the group since the beginning. I appreciate having such fine musicians filling in during Marks treatment and we will continue to play all the favorite Irish songs and originals that everyone has come to expect from The Kerry Boys over the years.

Once again, thanks for everyone’s thoughts and prayers and we look forward to seeing you during the busy summer months while we continue to keep the bandstand ready for Mark’s return!

Cheers, Pierce Campbell
