We’ll it’s the holiday season. While I am frantically booking March right now, I am starting to look at the summer too. Believe it or not a few of the towns we play regularly have already called for dates. It’s nice to be wanted!
Unfortunately, Mark will not be ready to perform in March and the summer season is also unsure. We have to play that by ear (using a musical metaphor). His strength is improving and he now only has to go to Boston once every two weeks for checkups. While he is improving, there is a long road ahead and he is still unable to go out in public. Lets hope for a summer filled with music together with Mark!
You may have noticed that The Kerry Boys don’t play many shows over the winter. We have concentrated instead on doing concert oriented shows in March and the summer, mostly in CT. I have to admit that I would love to find a few more listening rooms like our favorite, Smokin’ with Chris in Southington, but we have yet to find them. As our 24 years as a band progressed, it became more to our liking to play venues where the music is the primary draw and not the beer, although it’s not bad to have beer in any listening environment! So if you always wondered where we are over the winter, now you know. You’ll have to wait until March to catch a few of shows.
